I'm confused because of HDR

I’m using the LG Ultragear 27gs95qe. It’s an oled and up to 1000 nits, hdr supported also. I just can’t see any real difference between HDR and not HDR. Some things may be brighter but without any side by side comparison I can’t tell for sure. And if I need to have a side by side then why use it eve
