Macbook Pro circa 2016-17 and install Linux (unless you need Mac OS then OpenCore Os works). Those machines have great screens, are solid and you can fix some of the internals yourself, as everything wasn't soldered on. And hardware back then was made to last much more than recent things. But honest

Personal experience on Mac Pro 2010 with RX580 and Lenovo x395: Running Davinci, Steam and Heroic Launcher on my Linux Mint Cinnamon and all work great. Main concerns: Both devices are good. Intel T14 g1 is about as good as a T480 (10th gen processors used in Thinkpads are just 8th gen for the most part).
