ThinkPad X395

Fair enough. How come you got a ThinkPad instead of an M-Series MacBook? I went from 2019 X395 to 2020 M1 MacBook a few months ago personally because of battery life :)

Just got a ThinkPad x395, installed Mint and everything is just working. It's great!

The thing is, L590 used updated Intel 8th Gen, not much of a jump. L15 G1 used AMD 4000 which were a night and day improvement. Intel 10th Gen around the same time as AMD 4000, are little better than Intel 8th Gen. Not until Intel 11th Gen, do things improve, but your costs would jump even higher. A

I’d probably discount the T480 - it’s getting up there in age with many spares now unavailable. X395/T495 aren’t too bad on the lower end, depending on price they might be OK.. Option 13 depending on price might also work out (10nm core and Xe iGPU would be good to have). 17 would work well in lieu
