I think I bought the wrong LCD for my X280

Well, that's not a 32 pin cable. The one you have is actually the 40 pin touch cable. That display you currently have is the FHD touch that uses a 40 pin with 0.4mm pitch. The new display uses a 30 pin cable with 0.5 mm pitch (a bit more separated). By comparing the 2 panels, the one you bought has

Need help deciding on a second hand ThinkPad

I’d toss up between the T480s and X280, although I’m not sure what other specs they have (display would be my primary concern as the X280 has a much lower base resolution at only 768p.. Some older AMD SKUs may also fall into this margin, these might offer a decent performance point for your stated u

Thinkpad X280 screen mod: 13" 2160x1350 195PPI. Works ok but not in text mod (POST/BIOS)

Hey erparucca, thanks for the pics, interesting. But if you still haven't fixed the text mode problem, this display would't be an option for me, sadly. But I'm interested in the specs of it. Probem is, I can't load Panelook, because my OpenWRT router runs a VPN, which I can't disable by a click, and

Is the LP125WF2(SP)(B2) 00HN899 the only FHD display option available for upgrading the X260?

Just looking at listed FRUs you've got 6 panels to choose from. I used to own x260 and upgraded it to FHD panel, I think it was 374 from the list. The color calibration was absolute garbage. I remember x250 had LP125WF2 SPB2. It was a pretty nice screen. Afaik, up to xx50 generation Lenovo was makin

Am I the only one who wants to see smaller Thinkpads to come back?

You're the only one. Lenovo has the data on which models sold how many. If there were still demand, they'd still be selling them. Your picture is of the X100e, which nobody in their right mind bought. Footprint of the X280, the last 12.5-inch ThinkPad: 12.1 in x 8.3 in Footprint of the T14 Gen 5: 12
