X210Ai is a new motherboard designed to upgrade X201/X200

Mind that storage, RAM and battery are not included. Once you add these components, you can get a brand-new X13 Gen 6 with better specs for cheaper. If I would still be working at a company where I can just order whatever I want on the company bill, I would totally get one. But when money isn't free

Thoroughly surprised with the X260

I love my X260. Before shit hit the fan I put a 32 gig sodimm into it for shits and giggles. I got a new internal and external battery maxed out to like nearly 100WH (which made it's battery life insanely long) and I upgraded the WiFi to the Intel AX210, but even Arch Linux couldn't save how slow a

Advice on new laptop for the wife

Buy the newest T14 you can buy, your budget should easily get you at least a gen 4. Both amd and intel become quite competitive after the 2nd gen so the difference between them is splitting hairs. X13 is also an option, but you’re going to spend a fair bit more for similar specs, make sure you buy o

What's your current "dream Thinkpad"?

I currently use an x13 gen 2 with 8gb ram. I dream of having an x13 gen 6 w/ 1tb and 32gb, I can afford it yes, but its just costs too much I think. The ram in my current machine seems to be bottlenecking it, but its soldered. So I might buy a new one and make this a linux box to compliment my homel

Worth getting an older model for school use?

Try to get X13/T14(s) g2 or X1 g9, or newer. X13 g1 will do the job, but this only has 8GB of non-upgradeable RAM, which is the bare minimum nowadays, and 10th gen Intel is basically the same as 8th gen and far worse than newer generations. So don't get it unless it's the best you can get within you

ThinkPad Z13 Gen 1 is a wonderful laptop

No I did not. I was on a t14 2 years ago, then I went to an x13 Gen 1, and last year I went to an x13g2. This year I’m look no for x13g3 ryzen 7 but they are not cheap.

Is This Good For A Number Of Things?

Its an i5 11th gen so stay away from it rather look for models like t14g2 amd or p14s g2 or if you like small form factor x13 g2 amd will also do

Best thinkpad just for coding and movie watching only??

It's a dead series, x13 gen 4 can be bought under 500 and much better without compromising too much
