Not the OP you replied to, but I think it was discontinued because Lenovo's primary buyers are businesses, and businesses don't want 5+ pound laptops with huge batteries sticking out of them. As much as we here in our Reddit echo chamber don't want to believe it, people that would rather have a heav

As a student, you might as well come back to MacBook - brand-new Neo is 850 CAD with education discount, or you should be able to find older M chip Air models under 1000 CAD second hand. You get Microsoft Office IIRC, good battery life, good bright screen (some ThinkPads model configs still somewhat

The 11th gen i5 of my X13 outperforms the 9th gen i9 of my X1 Xtreme (in single core performance).

Tl;dr: I'd personally prioritise gen3 AMD (R7 Pro 6850u+ at least 16GB) over other gen(2) models or gen3 Intel. R7 Pro 6850u has massively better iGPU (about +80-100%: so for light gaming, gen3 should be much better) and a bit better watt efficiency (battery life), but the performance jump from its

You can run Asahi Linux on your M1. If you want something more flexible that will run whatever reasonable distro you want, look for a Thinkpad T, P, X1 or X13 (X9 is hit or miss on compatibility) that fits the budget. There are a lot on eBay because these are bought in large numbers by corporations

Having just upgraded from an X260 to an X13 gen 2 they should definitely keep the L13. X260 is fun and upgradable and sleek, but CPU performance and GPU is what matters.

I love my X260. Before shit hit the fan I put a 32 gig sodimm into it for shits and giggles. I got a new internal and external battery maxed out to like nearly 100WH (which made it's battery life insanely long) and I upgraded the WiFi to the Intel AX210, but even Arch Linux couldn't save how slow a

I would wait, the performance diffence is quite minimal. T14 gen 1 or 2 would be a better option and upgrade. Ryzen variant would be better than the i5 on X13 I would repaste and clean the T480 and look for a better deal. I own T480 and T490. The diffence is really minimal.

Well, even basic Panther Lake CPUs are progress, because those chips are much better than the Arrow Lake U you would mostly find in the X13 Gen 6 Intel
