Juiced back up
My coworker is totally in on the bambu train. He bought a P1S, sold it because he wanted the shiny stuff of the x1 carbon. 4 month later sold the x1c to buy the H2D and now has sold the H2D to buy a H2C, not even half a year later. That would drive me nuts.

Unhappy X1(G9) owner, want some advice downgrading
4k display kills your battery. Avoid X1 Carbon if you don't like soft touch coating. Some other models might have a soft touch as well, so look that up before buying. I'd go with the same CPU you had, 1185g7 is a good option on a budget. Or AMD 6650u, 6850u are still powerful enough, battery efficie

MacBook Air M1 is the best purchase I have ever made
The X1 Carbons and T series feel nice (especially recent ones) but they're not a solid piece of metal so they're always going to have some creak compared to a MacBook. But the hinges are very solid and the keyboard praise is real. There are a lot of other compromises though compared to a MacBook. Wi

Switched from M2 Air to the X1 Carbon 13th Gen. Some first impressions
_UPDATE 2: I returned it. The coil whine was driving me mad. It was not only during load but it also appeared during less stressfull scenarios like browsing and office work :/ Total no go for me. You can find a youtube link in this post. Then there was the issue with the speakers doing a "plop" soun

Craving Linux, but fearing sunken cost to Apple hardware I have.
I am also stuck in this quandary. I much prefer using Linux OS but the Apple portable hardware is so good. I’ve resigned myself to using Apple for laptops, and Linux on desktops. Asahi etc is a route, as you mentioned, but I’d rather just do thinkpad et al as it’s less likely to have problems. I was

Thinkpad T14 OLED buyers remorse?
2 hours would be ridiculous depending on the workload. But yes, I had buyer's remorse. The OLED panel was beyond beautiful but I rarely got to look at it since I mostly used a docking station. Furthermore it also felt like I'd have to treat the screen like a raw egg because a replacement would be ve

Will this laptop handle fedora KDE well ?
I have this exact one so i assume my words will be of help, first to answer your question, it flies with fedora Now to the more important topic, it's a peice of junk, it WILL break, not linux, the laptop's physical frame, more specifically the hinge, it's not a matter of if it will break, it's a mat

Got the Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura edition and noticed the right Ctrl key was replaced with Copilot + fingerprint. Is there any way to remap Copilot to Ctrl?
This is the laptop https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpadx1/thinkpad-x1-carbon-gen-13-aura-edition-14-inch-intel/len101t0108. I didn't notice it before but now that it's in front of me, the right Ctrl key, which I use all the time for Ctrl-left/right, is missing entirely and has be

Unpopular opinion: E-series ThinkPads aren’t bad at all
E series are imo still pretty muchworse than T series in pretty much aspect except for plain hardware specs. Keyboard replacements on E Thinkpads are a nightmare for instance. They are consumer products after all. However I like the E series more than the L series. Latter are just plastic boxes, E se

I saw this guy talking about that thinkpad can offer you many upgradable parts in older models are he fr?
X1 Carbon Gen 9 has charging issues (the charging circuitry gets hot and eventually dies). Stay away unless you know how to micro-solder.
