Thinkpad X1 Carbon 9 gen worth it for 200 USD?
Do confirm the BIOS is not locked, and or its not locked to a company, but that's very cheap. You could pay well over twice that in Europe. RAM is fixed, as it is on all X1 Carbons, but 16GB is fine for most uses. High quality bright display, fast, decent battery life, well made and light. You can u

X1 carbon gen 9 i7-1185G7 16GB RAM
I recently bought (and fixed) a broken X1 Carbon Gen 9. The reason I got the X1C9 is that it is the first X1 Carbon getting the 16:10 aspect ratio, and therefore one I could buy a defective one cheap. I am very happy with it, the build quality is impeccable and it feels really nice. My only complain

Lenovo 65W USB-C adapter failed again
I’m in the US. I have had three of the Lenovo 65W ones develop a bad connection close to the USB-C tip. Two took awhile, but the last one less than two months. I have read good things about Anker chargers so thinking about one of them. I will use whatever I get for my X1 Carbon Gen 9 and some other

X1 Yoga G6 - Battery Firmware Update failed
The ol 15w charging issue - i have the X1C9 and X1Y6, several of these models needed motherboard replacements from Lenovo to address this issue under warranty unless you want to replace the burnt out mosfets As for the firmware update, disable bitlocker, install the update/reboot

X1 Carbon G9 I7 or X1E Gen 2 I7
I think the X1E is a solid choice. More keyboard travel. The CPU is more powerful than the X1C9's, the dGPU is nice if you have use for it and WON'T shorten battery life if you don't use it. It'll accept USB-C charging from chargers offering at least 60/65W up to the (then) USB-C maximum of 100W. No

X1 Carbon gen 9 charging at 15W
X1C9 is notorious for its PD circuit failures. One of the symptom was 15w limitation. It'll eventually refuse to charge. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/X1-Carbon-Gen-9-charging-issue/m-p/5127796?page=1 Do try poking the reset button tho. Sometimes it's just bugged EC.

X1 carbon gen 9 i7-1185G7 16GB RAM
I've had motherboard replacements done on three of these X1C Gen 9's. I still daily drive one of these alongside a X1 Nano Gen 2 and to sum up my experience and what I've found when researching this online in the past... - There are a few references to mosfets burning themselves out (on Reddit and F

Why is X1 Carbon Gen 9 still recommended with known USB-C failures?
Where are you located? ;D I need help I just started having this issue on my gen9. I started having intermittent screen flicker issues that I couldn't track down but wanted to attribute to the 40an thunderbolt 3 dock + Windows 11. I was running Linux on the machine for months prior with no issues, o

Buying a Charger for X1 Carbon Gen 9 — Need Advice!
Based on the documentation the laptop support PD charging only up to 65W never ever intentionally buy fake products, any other branded chargers even if they are middle market like ugreen or baseus would be a better choice in term of safety. If a charger is not designed to be a laptop charger it may

Should I avoid X1C for the USB-C issues?
X1C9 specifically had its PD mosfet burning which is another layer of charging problem. Not really conclusive as to if Lenovo fixed the problem.
