2nd-hand X1 Carbon Gen 9 had a non-working USB-C port, didn't expect to see this
There is a reason why Lenovo is selling certified refurbished X1 Carbon Gen 9 with high spec for dirt cheap at the moment. If it sounds to be good to be true… There is a inherent issue with gen 9 unfortunately so they had a huge return back to base from corporate rerun.

This is ridiculous tbh
That's the best part; you don't know how widespread this may actually/truly be. Not a lot of users immediately go to Reddit and say "LOOK AT MY GREEN LINE" I worked at Lenovo during the release of the X1 Carbon 9th generation; the internet still has notes on "what was happening" but it's a few spora

Say Goodbye to the Iconic ThinkPad Keyboard Look
Lenovo has decided to change the font, which has remained almost unchanged for 30 years The font has definitively changed before. Just look at the X1 Carbon Gen 9 compared to the Gen 8. But this new font Is by far the worst one tbh.

Update: I fixed my defective X1 Carbon Gen 9 and upgraded the display
I recently bought a broken X1 Carbon Gen 9 to repair and ended up replacing both the motherboard and keyboard to get it working. There was only one problem: the display. The stock display panel and its responsiveness felt really underwhelming, and I knew I wouldn't be happy sticking with it. Finding

T14 G7 will be just a glorified E14 (opinion / rant)
Oh great, another one of these posts. -Centrered symbols means the B key can finally be on the same plane as the rest of the key symbols, which is one of the few things that annoys me to no end about every ThinkPad I own. I genuinely don't know how it's not be triggering everyone's OCD for the last

Laptop recommendations for ME program.
Lenovo Thinkapad x1 carbon Gen9 or higher generation. You want at least 16 gigs of ram (more is better) and a good CPU

X1 carbon gen 9 i7-1185G7 16GB RAM
I recently bought (and fixed) a broken X1 Carbon Gen 9. The reason I got the X1C9 is that it is the first X1 Carbon getting the 16:10 aspect ratio, and therefore one I could buy a defective one cheap. I am very happy with it, the build quality is impeccable and it feels really nice. My only complain

Thinkpad X1 Carbon 9 gen worth it for 200 USD?
Do confirm the BIOS is not locked, and or its not locked to a company, but that's very cheap. You could pay well over twice that in Europe. RAM is fixed, as it is on all X1 Carbons, but 16GB is fine for most uses. High quality bright display, fast, decent battery life, well made and light. You can u

My thinkpads and one friendly impostor
My current Thinkpad collection, I've owned over 20 Thinkpads over the years and started collecting in the past year or so again: My love: T480s, low power screen upgrade, 24GB of RAM, I love this machine, I used it to work and travel through Mexico with it, USB-C got messed up at the beach and MOBO

Based on CES buy thinkpad now or wait for the new cpus?
Maybe not so obvious: buy used at the price you can afford. I like to see what’s coming out today, so i can target what I’ll buy in 2-3 years. Thinkpads have been pretty underwhelming for a while now. If the next version that Lenovo releases was a big a jump as macs going from Intel to m chips then
