This is ridiculous tbh

That's the best part; you don't know how widespread this may actually/truly be. Not a lot of users immediately go to Reddit and say "LOOK AT MY GREEN LINE" I worked at Lenovo during the release of the X1 Carbon 9th generation; the internet still has notes on "what was happening" but it's a few spora

Is anyone else having to hold off laptop purchases?

Lenovo prices went up about 25% since January but we still need to replace ~25% of our laptops this year. (4 year warranty so laptops last 4 years before they're sold). That 25% made our T14s build more expensive than our "premium" Apple MacBook Air M5 build. We ended up going for the Ultra5 chip in

My T14 Gen 5 AMD Experience: I bought it, I used it, I sold it

Materials wise I mean it's a stepdown because the T480s and T14 G5 are different tiers. It's like comparing the T480s to the T480 - T--s is always much more premium. It's just a heavier X1C honestly. Thermals wise, I mean the T480s would have been able to sustain around (EDIT: I checked, was around

Today, we made it. All 2003 of our W10 deployments are now on W11.

Man this makes me so jealous, we have almost strictly lenovo T14s and 90% is even the same damn generation and then 10 or so P1's for our powerusers. Felt like scooping my own poop while i had the runs

L13 Rugged Case

Nothing is durable anymore. I can kill someone with my R400 if I hit hard enough. My P14s Gen 5 AMD (same chassis as the T14 gen 5, mind you) has his chassis creaking when I handle it slightly "too hard", holding by a corner on the palmrest, something I've been doing with all my ThinkPads without an

[UPDATE] Qualcomm, fsck you.

Qualcomm consistently doesn't give a shit. Here's yet another example of 37 pages of brokenness that's seemingly impossible to fix: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Other-Linux-Discussions/QCNFA765-Linux-ath11k-wifi-crippled-high-latency-packet-loss-frequent-disassociations-T14s-AMD/m-p/5252399?page=37

Hinge problem

You'll be surprised, this is the mess Lenovo made of the grey T14s Gen 2.

Why are used AMD units more expensive?

they are better machines That is not so. For example, AMD models tend to have fewer/worse screen options than Intel (only Lenovo knows why) and AMD models Wifi tends to be bad (https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Other-Linux-Discussions/QCNFA765-Linux-ath11k-wifi-crippled-high-latency-packet-loss-frequent-

Which T14 should I get?

Basic desktop usage is gonna be "fine" on anything with four cores, 16gb of ram or better, SSD or better, intel 8th gen and AMD ryzen 2nd or newer and with supported graphics. That line applies to both windows 11 (close to those are the official requirements) and linux. All "T14" models are newer th
