What is generally agreed upon to be the "best" ThinkPad?
Almost sounds like bait for the eternal Thinkpad argument lol....EscapeNo9728 summarizes things well. ThinkWiki also has a good graphic table of the history. And there have been a few Youtube vids on the topic as well. But to be honest, software can drive a lot of your decision making. The old geeze

Thinkpad P51 in 2025
Depends... Still strong and reliable machine... Uogradeable and easy fixable... Majority of components (if not all of them) are shared with P50 so plenty of (cheap) spares for the years to come only drwaback is the lack of official W11 support for 7820HQ CPU (only Dell and Microsoft's CPUs are appro

The T480 was the best thing I've ever bought in my life. (no joke)
My p53 with the RTX 4000 is the best purchase I made. it repalced my p53 with the t2000, whcih replaced my p52 with the p1000, which replaced my p50. Having a numpad is a HUGE must for me when travelling. Moving my 128 GB RAM and my multiple m.2 ssd's between these made it worth it. Do I need 128 GB

Goodmorning everyone, I want to run a Linux flavor on my older amd laptops (2019) but I want something that looks like windows 7 or similar.
It's not as repairable as older models due to the CPU being soldered (but that's on Intel, not Lenovo). With that said, it's still pretty repairable and upgradable. On my laptop, I've upgraded the RAM to 64GB (did this before RAM prices got stupid), and I've got three hard drives in it. I need to ge

How usable are the WWAN cards Thinkpads come with?
WWAN works fine on Windows, Linux is still iffy with the FCC locks on newer models, with some older Fibocom cards not working at all. Though for my personal experience, I bought my X1 Nano brand new from Lenovo with the Qualcomm X55 5G Modem, and have been using it on T-Mobile for the past 3 years,

What is it with Linux and Lenovo ThinkPads?
My P50 was an absolute monster. 2 sata bays, 2 m2 slots, & 4 sodimm slots. I could dual boot from separate nvme drives and had room for extra storage. It’s old, but still works. I sometimes still use it for certain things. This was a lenovo too. They really do not make em like that anymore.
