Vectorworks users in the US, what’s your experience been like?

At first it seemed like a decent program. But reality hits you like a steel beam in the face.1- Requires a lot of power (CPU, GPU, system memory, storage, screen resolution). Likely there is no perfect machine, just one that is acceptable. You can have one that is 1000x faster, and it will run signi

Books and computers are not an option when the seat ahead goes back.

If you'd ever flown with a large laptop, you wouldn't be saying that. I'm a regular size passenger (5'10", 180lbs) and with the seat in front of me reclined, I can't open my ThinkPad P16 screen more than about 55°, making it completely unusable.

Guys what’s better a laptop or a tower? Also please give me some good specs I’m running 2026

My company issued me a Linovo ThinkPad p16 Gen 2. It runs SW fine, but still crashes 3-5 times a week. We also design "Big" things. However, I will say I think a Desktop PC is the better way to go.

This^ My ThinkPad P16 runs 2026 just fine. However, when i take it home it feels like i dropped a whole cinder block in my backpack. Definitely not something i would want to cart around all the time.

Thinkpad P16 G3 first benchmarks (285HX / RTX 4000 Blackwell)

thank you! Will have to search around to understand why memory is not running at 5600. In previous gens, that would be limited by the numbers of RAM slots being used: 2=full speed 4=limited speed.Given your feedback and looking especially at the last chart, it seems to me this system is capped alrea

Will Fusion360 ever get GPU support?

Just stumbled across this after Fusion completely stopped working on quite a simple model, with lots of Body/Sketch features (a PCB footprint in my case for an SOC, which I had to draft the 3D model for see photo)). I switched from my office PC, a puny Lenovo T14 Gen 4 with UHD & Core-i7-1355U, to a

Replace my Current PC with Laptop

Buisiness laptops with the i9 cpu that I can find are running around the 3kg+ mark. A 4.5KG laptop, while still chunky, is going to be limited to less thermally demanding hardware. My primary workstation laptop, equipped with a 4th gen quad core i7, weights 2.88KG according to google math conversion
