Buying Advice: ThinkPad for AI / Cybersecurity Studies

If portability doesn’t matter and performance + quiet operation are the priority, the ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 or 3 is the best ThinkPad you can buy. It has HX-series CPUs, the strongest cooling in the lineup, supports very high RAM (ideal for AI and VMs), and sustains heavy loads far better than P1 or X1

Really Looking to move to an AMD Thinkpad but don't love the configurations

Lenovo has made such a model line with the Z13 and Z16, which were high-end AMD models. Unfortunately, they did not sell well, so Lenovo discontinued them. Intel is paying a lot of money to support Lenovo in the development of the X1/P1 line, so naturally, these models are Intel exclusive. AMD did t

В одно окно смотрели двое...

У меня был Thinkpad P1. Это ещё мощнее, чем X1. До сих пор есть, но не пользуюсь уже, поскольку сыпется он - то одно отвалится, то другое. Гомно. Никакого Lenovo больше.

End of an era: Why the construction of the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 is so significant

I am not too happy with my P1 gen 6 as a long time user. The thunderbolt port is problematic in Linux, the keyboard has failed for no reason after 3.5 years of usage, and the flaws of the design make it suck more dust in between the motherboard and the keyboard than on the bottom. The performance ha

buying my fist thinkpad

I recently learned that the T1g (which is the same laptop as the P1) will get a Gen 9 soon that has a 12GB VRAM SKU. If you want to get a portable laptop with a GPU, this would be the one to buy. It will be expensive, but at least it won't be immediately obsolete like the T1g/P1 Gen 8 are. For the m

Is this true?

If you are lucky everything works. If not everything breaks with a major update. I didn't have issues on my old Lenovo t460 , but my p1 breaks after each update. Nothing major, but without chatgpt it would be hard

Dell to Lenovo?

I am going to write you my 6 year experience with lenovo laptops and docking stations. We use P1 as a power laptop, and currently T16 as a light laptops. Everything was fine until cca. 2021 then the problems started with the F**** docking stations. Instead of the old ones where the laptop would lay

Which of the 2 options?

For the ThinkPad? It's an older model. and you can find options with more processing power/newer for similar pricing. Examples: Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 5 Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6

ThinkPad recommended for PhD

Totally random thing. The laptop was perfectly functioning if plugged to an external monitor, so it was just the screen, just bad luck. As for the other options, I can't tell you much since I'm not a ThinkPad expert, but what I can tell you is that the T14 Gen 6 is enough to handle almost everything
