The Lenovo Thinkpad P1 Gen 5 is the worst device I’ve ever owned.
Like, ThinkPads don't normally go bad, but it is a pain in the ass when they go. I had a P15 Gen 1, which as flawless. Sold and god an P1 Gen 2 with the 4k screen, and problems were constant. P1 gen 2 trackpoint only moves vertically
I have a P1 Gen 2 and I agree with this, however, Vantage does not work that well for these older machines. I've had to go to support.lenovo.com and manually download newer drivers.

Lol you're regarded. A fresh install of Ubuntu LTS on a ThinkPad P1 Gen 2 (ca 2021 Workstation model, Intel, basically perfect for Linux) has the issue right out of the box: Scroll speed hyper fast/ unusable touchpad lags on initial move due to FOSS-good-enough-attitude
