Thinkpad L15 Gen2
I am personally using two different ThinkPad, T14s gen 2a at home and L15 gen 4a at work. I prefer the T14s much more as it runs smoother and I rarely hear fan noise (even with charger).

Surely you applied the settings and all? Have you checked the voltage before and after in HWinfo64? If the maximum voltage (after resetting the stats) in HWinfo64 gets much lower (from 1.23V to 1.10V for instance), then it works. But it may work too well, and your undervolt may not be too stable at

Tell us if you have a certain display size you want. I would start by sharing that. Regardless of which models, $500 USD can get so much! Let us all know to better help you decide. But since it’ll spend most of its time on desktop, There are some 16” models but I believe those are newer release year
