Why are Lenovo ThinkPads so highly praised?
There was a really good post about this a couple weeks ago, that I fully recommend, I agree with every single word of it and my only single criticism is that the author didn't take a chance to add that what is true of ThinkPads is also true of every other corporate-aimed type of ocmputer. The Myth o

I got tempted
T495s is not known for overheating, but CPU Power Management, enabled by default, can be overly aggressive, throttling the chipset, restricting its full capability. In T495s bios, go to Config, Power, and disable CPU Power Management, reboot, and test. Also check, laptop's ventilation slots, side an

Thinking About Getting an E14 Gen 3
Varies by country, but reasonable for a 5 yr E14 G3, but you must verify the fitted display. E14 displays are not the best, and the G3 had 4 options all 16:9 FHD, a 250 nit TN panel, that's worth avoiding. The other 3, all IPS panels - 250 nit, or 300 nit 45% NTSC, or a superior 100% sRGB 300 nit. A

T14s gen 6
Hmm... now I'm trying to remember what the options were. Maybe I am confusing this with the L14. Lenovo discontinued many of the non-touch SKUs for the T14s G6 here. Ignoring the fact that I absolutely do not want touch screens for our fleet, I'm pretty sure the numbers on the touch option were glar

when t14 gen 7 is released, would gen 6 go cheaper?
There might be a moment when Lenovo sells off old stock of the Gen 6 but it really depends on how good they are or aren't at stocking a bunch of extra units. If they keep large inventories then there'll be more chance to get one "cheap". If you have new laptop money though, I would just buy the Gen

L14 Gen3 Review and Appreciation Post
I think on these ones you can go up to 63wH (but the part is uncommon and more expensive)

T14s Gen 2 - Was this a good deal?
And Ryzen 5000 counts as 1 "generation". Forgive me for not being so far up Lenovo's ass to know that only the ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 came with the 5500u and not the other Gen 2 thinkpads. Douchebag. Still, he's stuck with 16GB RAM forever, that's a much bigger problem. The iGPU will also require some r

Wanna get in the Thinkpad Game
Well, Australian market for the used ThinkPads is not as good as in US but still it seems to me this is quite overpriced. Please note: this laptop is 4 gens old, current one is T14 Gen 6, and Gen 7 has been announced just recently. Just for example, this are the prices for the new ThinkPads from Len

Help with consideration
Gotcha, so that's roughly what I suspected with 12th gen. Those chips are just on the inner edge of four years old and so globally especially they aren't quite at the mass selloff and leases ending phase. Just as a heads up, based on some things you are now saying: ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 (Intel) has hal
