I just received a T14 Gen 2, but it doesn't have an RJ45 port

Just got my ThinkPad L14 Gen 2, my research on the internet showed that it had an RJ45 ethernet port. When I got mine, it did not have one. I though they sent me the wrong model as well, check and below the screen it showed "L14". Check the serial number and it showed its Gen 2 as per Lenovo's websi

Choosing L14 Gen 2 for my first ever Thinkpad.

It's an excellent value machine. If running single channel RAM, worth adding a second stick to run dual channel. Dual channel 16GB (2 x 8GB), for example, would outperform 1 x 16GB. L14 G2 is fairly modular, with plug in WiFi card, and user replaceable keyboard, on top of dual RAM slots. A more plas

Should I replace my ThinkPad or upgrade it?

Regardless what you did, its dual core 7th Gen chipset, ultimately limits your T480. As others, T14 G2 AMD Ryzen 5 or 7 will upgrade performance, responsiveness, display brightness, and assuming decent battery health, stronger battery life (50Wh), than a T480. Older T14 G1 AMD also excellent, but it

need recommendation for old models as they would be cheaper, looking for something with high nits, glossy screen, touchscreen and any i5 or i7 processor above 10th generation. the only thing i see are like the x1 series? no other options in the P or T?

Anything forward of Intel 10th Gen starts with Gen 2 T14, T14s, T15, E14, L14, X13, P14s, P15v, all from 2021 and later. E14 G2 300 nit limit, L14 G2 400 nit low power. In Gen 2 T14 / T14s / P14s all had 500 nit display options, either 4K, or a Touchscreen with Privacy Guard. T15 G2 and P15v G2 had

T14s Gen 1 or L14 Gen 2? (both Intel)

Build quality of L14 not at same level as T series, but the L14 G2 is very flexible, with a far more capable 11th Gen Intel chipset. Review of an L14 G2 i5-1135G7, and system specs. Dual open RAM slots, potentially supports two internal drives, and numerous ports. The stock 1080p display, is a basic

T14s or T14|AMD or Intel Which is better and why

That’s a great pick, although being a P14 you may have warmer temps and shorter battery life (depending on configuration, OS and power settings..) https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-P14s-G2-AMD-laptop-review-With-a-matte-4K-LCD-and-Ryzen-5000.562498.0.html If that worries you, a T14 might

Can the thinkpad t490 play these games?

Low cost gaming capable ThinkPad, look at L14 G1 or better L14 G2 AMD Ryzen 5 or 7. Avoid any with 1366x768 TN display panels, consider 1080p IPS displays only. Intel 8th/10th Gen (T490) not good for gaming. AMD even in L14 G1, night and day more capable. Can't answer to those specific games, but on

L14 gen2 ryzen 7 5850u or T14 gen2 ryzen 5 5600u?

T14 G2 gives you slightly bigger battery 50WH (L14 45Wh), brighter 300 nit display (L14 250 nit), and stronger build. L14 G2 gives you stronger performance and more upgrade options with a faster Ryzen 7 chipset, with stronger graphics, than in T14 G2, and dual open RAM slots (64GB total). If it's le

Thinkpad for under 200€ in 2026

With Linux your preferred OS, a low cost option is, L14 G2 i5 or i7. Similar to T14 G2, using newer 11th Gen Intel chipsets, with stronger Iris Xe graphics (needs 2 x 8GB RAM or higher). With two open RAM slots, any model can upgrade to 64GB. Excellent connectivity inc Thunderbolt 4, plug in WiFi ca

Any recomendations for a first time buying Thinkpad. Something like T480 but with AMD chip

You will need to get a T14 g2 or newer to exceed the performance of your current laptop. As for doubling in performance, what aspects are you referring to? CPU single or multicore? iGPU? If you must have two upgradable SODIMM slots, you'll need to get an L series Thinkpad or a T14 g5 or 6, but the l
