I have directly compared an E16 gen 2 with a thinkbook 14 both with the exact same specs. Same Ryzen processors, 16gb ram, 512gb storage and sane display. I was in Best Buy recently. They are having some sales right now. They had a nice Asus Vivobook with Ryzen 7 ai cpu as well as a Thinkpad E16 with a Ryzen 7 or intel ultra core 7. They should be a good value. Walmart USA had a nice Ideapad Slim 3 with a Ryzen 8800 series. https://www.walmart.com/ip/

Oh the glass screen was the one thing that broke on one of my Surfaces too. I had this shoulder bag and a Surface 3 and TBH I'm extremely clumsy and would drop the bag and the screen eventually shattered. The machine still worked but I had to go in and turn off the touch sensor and I have no recolle

I doubt an extra 70g will be noticeable when moving the machine around (for the base config), however I would be concerned if you’re looking at a neat 2KG config.. You should find a Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen3 in that budget. It has good build quality and portable but no dGPU.
