My E14 Gen 6 after almost a year

From Gen 5 forward, you get - 16:10 display, and noticeably improved build quality. AMD models are particularly powerful, but even G5 uses Intel 13th Gen chipsets, with capable Iris Xe Graphics when run with dual channel RAM. G5 8GB + 1 open RAM slot (40GB max), G6/G7 2 open RAM slots (64GB max). Al

Need a new laptop for university: L14 G4 vs T14s Gen 2

T14s all-metal build, thin and light, fixed DDR4x-4266 16GB RAM, single NVMe drive, decent Intel chipset, but outmatched by equivalent AMD. 2 years older than L14 G4. L14, plastic/metal build, DDR4-3200 RAM will upgrade to 64GB, more powerful AMD chipset, stronger graphics than Intel 11th Gen, suppo

L14 G2 vs E14 G5 vs T14 G3

E14 G5:The Ryzen 5 7530U is the newest and strongest chip here, so it'll feel snappier in everyday use and hold up better over time. 16GB RAM + 512GB storage is the best out-of-the-box setup of the three. Should be easier to resell down the line since it's newer and better specced. T14 G3: The i5-12

L14 G2 vs E14 G5 vs T14 G3

If your primary concern is minimal loss, the much cheaper L14 G2, trades a poor display, and cheaper build than the other two, for similar performance to the E14 G5. All three stock displays are 45% NTSC with weak color coverage, red looks orange. L14 16:9 250 nit display, dimmer than 300 nit, and t

Thinkpad T14 G1 AMD or something else?

L14 G5 stock display while a more modern 16:10, has very poor color accuracy, with red having a noticeable orange hue. Read a review of a Ryzen 5 L14 G5 here. You can see how red appears more orange in the display images of the review. Ryzen 3 chipset is decent, even at 4 core, but its power consump

Is this worth it? Refurbished

In Europe that's not a bad price for a refurbished E14 G5 with a 12 month warranty. That same laptop is also on eBay Germany. Looking on eBay I similarly found an E14 G5 Ryzen 5, 16/512, listed as very good condition, with 12 month warranty for € 449 (inc eBay coupon). Ryzen 7 is more powerful, but

E or T?

E14 G5 Intel, slower DDR4 3200 RAM, 8 or 16GB fixed + empty slot (48GB max), USB 2.0 port, single Thunderbolt. Dual NVMe drive support. Default display, poor color, red looks orange. Plastic chassis/metal top panel. Older generation Intel chipsets, than in T14 G5. T14 G5, higher quality and stronger

backmarket e14 gen 5 for 300?

E14 Gen 5 is a good value upgrade-able machine, however I'd hesitate with an i3-1315U, which isn't very powerful, and restricted to weaker UHD graphics. I don't know the pricing in your location, but far more capable chipsets used in the E14 G5 - i5-1335U, i7-1355U, AMD Ryzen 5 7530U, Ryzen 7 77730U

Is E14 Gen 6 worth the price jump from E14 Gen 5?

G5 to G6 saw several upgrades, with more RAM and NVMe upgrade options. i5 13420H is slightly more powerful, but less battery efficient than Ultra 5 125U. G6 faster DDR5-5600 RAM, G5 DDR4-3200. G6 includes two RAM slots (64GB dual channel total). E14 G5 8GB/16GB fixed + open slot (16GB/32GB dual chan

Get X1C9 ports fixed or get a different laptop?

By current standards, Intel 10th Gen H model chipsets, are not particularly powerful, but generate a lot of heat. At 6 lbs, a P15 is more than twice the weight of your 2.49 lbs X1 Carbon. Notebook Check’s review of the P15 G1, found its keyboard to be noisy, flexing in use. I had a T420s with a flex
