[The Verge] Legion Go 2 official: Lenovo’s new flagship handheld costs $1,099 — and up
1080g for a handheld device is insanity even if it has an 8.8" screen. People have complained that the Switch2 (7.9") at 535g is too heavy. This weighs just over 2X the Switch2. As for competitors, the Steam Deck OLED (7.4") is 630g, and the Asus ROG Ally X (7") is 680g. Doubly idiotic is that they'

Why the 7 inch screen?
I had the original Legion Go, pre order day one. I found it too heavy and dimensions too big for a handheld, the weight and bulk were due to the screen size choice. In my opinion the Lenovo Go OG, was a tablet trying to be a handheld. It even had a portrait orientation tablet screen masquerading as

Legion Go or Steam Deck OLED?
Depends what you’re looking to get out of a handheld. Steam Deck is a much simpler experience and much more of a true “handheld”. It runs indies super well with no tinkering. Battery life is great. However its specs are aging and there’s a learning curve when it comes to leveraging SteamOS for mods

Which would you get at these prices?
I’d save a bit more and look at the Xbox Ally X. The Go S is great, but only when it was on sale for $600. The screen is a nice size and the performance isn’t too far behind (still fine). But the battery life is terrible. The Legion Go has a nice screen but it’s too high of a resolution for the APU

Rog ally for a Legion Go?
I’ve had the original Legion Go, Ally Z1E and now Ally X. Legion Go’s screen is pretty great, no doubt about it. Speakers are terrible compared to Ally. Battery is a little worse than Z1E Ally and way worse than X. Detachable controllers on Go are kinda neat, so is the built in stand. The Go is much

Someone explain the Legion Go to me like I’m five
The Legion Go is a handheld gaming PC produced by Lenovo. It has a large 8.8" very high resolution screen, detachable controllers, 16Gb of RAM, 512Gb or 1Tb of memory for the system and your games and runs Windows 11. It released in October 2023. You can now install SteamOS on it if you want but it'

Legion Go 1 or ROG Ally X?
I would chose ally x as original legion go is famous for very poor cooling system. You will need to regularly open it and clean the fan, it gathers dust. Friends of mine who have it, clean it every month as standard maintenance. Lenovo fixed fixed it in go s version. Look for picks on legion subredd

Which Handheld would you buy Lenovo Legion Go vs Asus Xbox Ally
Personally I would not recommend any of the two choices. White Xbox ally will have amazing ergonomics but has chip with performance on the level of the steam deck. So if you plan to play old games and indie it will be good enough. On the other hand original legion go is famous for very poor cooling

Is the Rog ALLy Z1 Extreme worth investing in?
It’s been great with updates but there’s new handhelds coming out monthly it seems but for now Asus is keeping there prices although a bit higher WAY more affordable then Lenovo. MSI is about to drop their new handheld and I believe a few others. It will always come down to the chip the battery life

WHICH BUDGET HANDHELD TO GET?
Well, you mention “budget” handheld…. The prices are going up on a lot of these - mostly Lenovo so far but other companies are expected to follow suit. Probably the best budget option for an x86 handheld has been a used/refurbished Z1E Ally from the previous generation. Can be had for like $400-$500
