Which is the better option
Xbox Ally X way better if pricing is so close. Xbox Ally X is worth $300 more than Legion Go S at least.

Legion Go S Gets Price Hike: Z2 Go 512GB/16GB ($649 to $989). Z1 Extreme 32GB/1TB ($899 to $1579)
Legion Go S with Z1E is now almost $1600. $1000 for XaX is great value in comparison.

Up to $1999 USD for the z2e 32gb/1tb at Best Buy US. A $650 price increase.
Guess I'll be sticking with and modding my Legion Go S (Z1E-SteamOS) Was only thinking of upgrading for the OLED and joycons but its definitely not worth it now

There is no way that Legion Go 2 is just £450. That's probably Legion Go S with Z2 Go APU.

Bestbuy is tripping
I was in Best Buy tonight looking to buy a Legion go S Z1 extreme steamOS for $678 open box, they apparently couldnt find it in the inventory even though I showed them on the website they had two at around the same amount. then 3 hours later......this bullshit.....the NEW price was $899 now $1299.

Opinions on trading a legion Go S for an Xbox Ally X?
I have both, I prefer the XAX over the Legion Go S. Yes, I wish the screen was a little bigger on the X, but it's not a deal breaker, the performance, ergonomics, battery life, speakers, haptics, are superior on the X. Legion Go S gets its own set of massive price hikes, in a similar fashion to the Legion Go 2
Up in price is understandable. Raising the price by nearly $1000 for the Legion Go S Z1e, not so much.

Go vs S/z1
If I were you, id just go with the first Legion Go device. The current Legion Go S price is too much. If having more then 16 gb of ram is important to your kid, the Xbox Ally X is a good option.
