Honest review of the Leica SL3 and SL-lenses

I own and SL3, 24-70 leica lens, and 50mm apo lens. I'm not an influencer. The reason I use the SL3 is because it's a Leica and I like what I get out of Leica from a user experience and end result stand point. The build quality, the interface, the settings, the ease of use, it gets out of the way an

In your experience, what are the most reliable mirrorless cameras your photographers have used on set?

In my experience: Nikon Z8 & Z9 are super solid, followed by Canon R5 & R6. Phase One IQ4 is also super stable. Even the Leica SL2 & SL3 I think are quite stable. The Fujis and Sonys usually work well with updated firmwares, but from time to time they do "strange things" 😃 I'd say from Sony the most

Q3 43 vs Fuji GFX 100S II

I once was a Fuji shooter, starting with their X cameras for years. Then I moved to GFX with 2 bodies and 6 lenses (also for years). Now I am with Leica. The GFX 50R is still with me, along with the 110mm and the 45mm, but that's because I just still love that particular camera and those 2 lenses. H

Need Advice: Landscape photographer on Sony thinking of switching to Leica

I switched from Sony to Leica. I own quite a few but my newest one is the SL3s. Ask away. In terms of the body the sl3s is great. Menus are way cleaner. Not as frustrating. Stuff is where you’d expect it to be once you get acquainted. Autofocus is great honestly. I have the Leica 24-70 and the Sigma

SL2 or A7RIV?

α7rIV. SL2 files at 800 ISO make it tough. Shooting low light is a challenge. The design and ergonomic of it is only rivaled by SL3. Despite the poor low light performance, poor battery, and contrast detection autofocus challenges compared to α7rIV I enjoy holding and shooting SL2 more… The image qu

Advice re: switching from Sony A7IV to Leica SL3S

I recently switched from the Sony A7rV to the Leica SL3 and I’m super glad I made the switch. I was using the Sony with the 35mm 1.4 GM, 85mm 1.4GM, and 70-200 2.8 GM ii. I’m now using the Leica with the 35 APO, 75 APO and some M mount glass. For landscape and nature I love the experience of the Lei

Does the SL series cameras feel the same?

The current weakpoint of the SL until the SL3s was fast AF tracking in very dynamic situations, so people who relied on that still often use other brands like Sony. Glass, built quality and UI are exceptional, so if you like Leica you do like the SL for that, too.

IPX4/Full-frame/mirrorless cameras?

The Leica SL3 reporter has an IP54 rating. Not sure about the standard sl3 but I love my reporter. Not the best af but it gets the job done for me. Granted I’m not shooting birds in flight which I highly doubt the reporter would do compared to the competition.

SL3

I used to have a Sony system with a couple GM lenses. (I sold it all to buy a Leica kit.) Though I never measured sharpness with anything other than my aging eyes on a computer screen, I'd say the third-party L-mount lenses get pretty close, though they don't feel as clinically precise as the GM len
