I fell into the Leica trap

For your situation I'd sum it up in this way from best to worst scenario:Q2 -> SL2-S -> MThe Q is a wonderful camera which will certainly make you considering an M in future. The SL line is a great middle ground where you can both use expensive anc cheap lenses from various manufacturers. Don't disre

what are your guys opinion on the leica q 116?

Great camera. I had one, added an SL2–S, then traded both on a Q3. The Typ 116 is definitely in “gateway drug” territory. Downside: the 28mm lens is limiting, especially if you’re coming from interchangeable lens cameras. Upside: that 28mm lens is also the finest optic I’ve shot with. It’s astoundin

Help me choose a camera please

Don't agree with the comment above, (and capable of proving) have been using the Sony a7 m1 for 8 years exclusively with manual vintage lenses, (some of yours too). Until last year when I switched to Leica SL2-S (also using vintage lenses, from Leica, japanese or german). Haven't experienced any maj

Will the Leica SL3P be more ”professional” than the SL3 and SL3S

I'm lensing my SL2s with M glass, so the thinner filter stack of the Leica is important to me. I shoot a lot wides, where smearing is worst.

Leica D-Lux 8, M240, M8, M10, Q? - Nepal/Himalaya visit

Have you thought about something from the SL line? I know they tend to be looked at as Leica's red headed stepchild around here but they are great cameras if you are dead set on buying a Leica. They will be a bit larger and heavier than an M or a Q but they do bring full IP54 rating for weather seal

Need buying advice for a Leica AF body.

SL2/-S would be a great match to your Q2. You’re familiar with the sensor already. ISO performance is great still IMO. The SL2s can be had for 2.5k USD and really you have your pick of the crop when it comes to lens choice to pair with your Q2! And if you wanted to get into motion, the SL2/S is a so

M lenses performance on Nikon ZF vs Leica SL2-S vs Lumix S1/5 ?

I have the SL2 and ZF. The ZF has the advantage of the Nikon manual focus green-box aid, but in all other respects I prefer the SL2 for adapting lenses. The SL2 viewfinder (and the SL2-S) is significantly better than the ZF’s (which is already decent). It is higher resolution and performance with M

Leica just announced the new SL3-P

It doesn’t quite work like that, but the sensor is the same yes. I’ve owned the Lumix as a second camera with the SL, and whilst the results were lovely, it just didn’t feel nice to use compared to my SL2-S, so regardless of it being ‘better’, I took better pictures with the Leica. So, I sold it and

I fell into the Leica trap

A Leica SL2 or SL2-S, depending on if you need resolution or ISO performance, it might not be a traditional Leica but for me it handles very simmilarly to my Q and with the M mount adapter i can use all of my M lenses, the build quality and general expirience is amazing and the reviewers who call it
