Model Identification

That's a 1st Gen (v1.3). It's in an incredible state. http://www.francescoceccarelli.eu/La_Pavoni/m_Europiccola/EP_1963_4253_eng.htm Well worth the price for a collector. It's missing the drip tray plate and the base. I believe it has asbestos seals, and the electronics are a bit dangerously basic. I'd

Should I get this Ali baba manual lever machine? [A$500]

Thanks for the input, legend Edit: I would have loved a La Pavoni Europiccola but they are just way overpriced

I tried steamed water for my americano. I’m stunned.

I saw the video last night and was very intrigued. I’m a strict filter guy for larger coffees - I like espresso neat, to use the spirits term, or occasionally an iced espresso and soda. I generally detest americanos for many of the reason James mentioned, and I find it very disappointing when a cafe

Is my new grinder calibrated properly? [Baratza Encore ESP Pro & Sage Bambino Plus]

I don't have time for a lengthy reply, so this will be brief for now. I'm on my second Encore ESP Pro now. I explained the problems with the first one in another thread, but I'll say just briefly that it worked fine for a month or so, grinding for my La Pavoni Europiccola and Chemex at roughly 30 an

Experiences with La Pavoni Europiccola (or La Peppina) ?

If you can get a La Pavoni for 160, give it a try. I ran a Europiccola for a couple of years and found it impossible to get a consistently good cup of coffee. I was glad to upgrade to a Lelit Elizabeth.

Robot or Bambino/Barista Express

interesting to see so many comments here (and elsewhere) about swapping an expensive, complex espresso machine for the Robot, which will never suffer from a microprocessor failure or whatever else. Sometimes the best solution is the simplest one! Just purchased a Robot, and I'm pleased at how easy i

De’Longhi automatic coffee machines – which model to choose?

I have the De'Longhi Eletta Explore latest model (ECAM 45086 T) and still getting used to it. It cam grind fine enough to choke the flow. Over 50 drinks are programmed, but a lot of those are a joke. It does have cold brew (actual, not just over ice if thats a consideration.) Uses two different milk

[$1000] Is the Cafelat Robot overkill for only making milk drinks?

There's basically nothing in it that is likely to break any time soon, and if something did it would probably be easy to repair. It takes up virtually no bench space, and it has an absolutely sterling reputation in its class, and a very enthusiastic userbase. As far as lever machines go an obvious s

Frustrated with finding a first machine [400]

I think you’re probably right between these two. I like the idea of manual but having to also get a kettle and steamer makes it way too many appliances. La pavoni seems really cool and the europiccola has a boiler and steam wand but probably too sensitive for a beginner. Also it being difficult to p

I see your 11 year not upgraded station, and raise you this 30+ year Miss Betsy. AMA

For those interested, this is really tiny, same size/footprint as my Olympia Cremina lever, it's about 2/3 to 3/4 size of the Silvia. I have the manual for it and it's called Caffe Sienna on the cover of the manual, alas, I've found zero info on the internet about the model under that name, but I re
