Kobo vs Kindle
I’m a pretty dedicated Kobo owner but it’s largely personal preference. The Paperwhite is a really good device and Amazon’s ecosystem is very easy to use. There’s a reason that Amazon is basically the default ereader for a lot of people. I switched to Kobo for two reasons. First, the form factor of

What’s your favorite e-Reader and why?
Kobo Libra Colour. The built in Overdrive and Google Drive are handy. The UI is awesome. The ergonomics are much better than my Kindles. I’ve mostly stopped using Kindles now ( I’ve had them all including 1st gen and Oasis)

Friday Free Talk!
I bought a Kobo Clara Colour this week even though I have a perfectly good Kobo Libra Colour because "portability" and "I will cry if my Libra breaks." It's a bit frivolous but it really is handy to have a slightly smaller device to throw in my bag while the larger one is safe at home on my reading

The short version is, ereaders have made it difficult for me to read physical books anymore. I have been with kindle ever since 2011. I got the Kindle Touch in 2011. Then a Kindle Paperwhite 2nd gen in 2014. A Kindle Paperwhite 10th gen in 2019. Kindle Paperwhite 11th gen in 2023. I branched out fro

Cheap colored ereader
I could be wrong but I think there’s only 2 coloured ereaders available. Quite wrong, yes. :-) Kindle Colorsoft, Kobo Clara Colour, Kobo Libra Colour, PocketBook Verse Pro Colour, PocketBook Era Colour, PocketBook Inkpad 3 Colour, and a gazillion of Android eInk devices just to start with, from Boox

Kindles and DRM...take 2...a more visual version of yesterday's list...probably should have done it this way to start
My Kobo Libra Colour arrived yesterday, and by evening I had installed KOReader (no jb needed), set a one touch gesture in left bottom corner to activate night mode, and generally played with the plethora of settings. In "help" you can search for a setting keyword, and it will respond with the optio

What e-reader do you recommend?
I just got the Kobo Libra Colour and love it. I had the Clara B&W, which I thought was nice too. I prefer the size of the Libra, but to be honest, you'll be pleased with either.

Wanted to buy a reader that could use Libby app from NLB. Is Kobo ok? What else works for you?
iPad cheapest new is ~$500, weighs half a kilo and last around 10 reading from full charge. A kobo Libra Colour is ~$330, 200g and 40 hours of reading on a charge. Even the budget kobo Clara bw, ~$200, 175g, 30 hours of reading. As a ereader replacement an iPad is terrible value, costs 50% more for

What about E-readers?
I’ve been using an ereader since the first nook came out and currently have a kobo libra colour. I think they’re worth it. The screens are both more comfortable to read on and easier to read on out side then on your phone. The battery life is great, depending on how many hours a day you read you can
