Why are B/W button devices dying out?
People are really sleeping on the Nook. I don’t use one personally, but I rooted a teal Nook Glowlight 4 (late 2025 model) for my husband. I installed KOReader on it for epubs and Libby for library books. The BW screen is perfectly crisp and the device is super fast. Crisper and faster than my Kobo

Tablet for Graphic Novels
A kobo libra! Large screen full color e reader with direct access to Libby. Getting more than one card on is finicky, I haven’t been able to do it yet but I also haven’t tried particularly hard, there are instructions to do so on the kobo sub. The colors are a bit muted, more like newspaper print th

How many of you have gotten a backup device?
I'd wait, wouldn't want another device without a backlight, also touch would be nice to have and a less fragile screen. Tbh I only bought the x4 because of the price, crosspoint/hackability and because kobo clara colour doesn't have a flat screen.

should I get an e-reader? even though my shelves are not filled to the brim with books? (rant, kind of.)
You can have 0 physical books and still be able to purchase an ereader. An ereader is just a tool for reading and there is no requirement that says you need to have a massive personal collection of physical books in order to own an ereader. Personally, I think the ereader makes me reead more than ph

Kobo Libra Colour screen brightness comparison - KIV if you can't stand low contrast!
After hemming and hawing whether to opt for a Kobo Clara Colour or BW, I went with the BW. The reason? Less contrast and sharpness on the colour display. I have difficulty understanding the appeal of eInk colour displays unless one's a devotee of manga, graphic novels, and comic books. Or the abilit

What kind of features should I look out for?
Buying a first e reader is exciting. Things I ask myself and think about would be - Size - do you want one that more portable. Or would you rather a slightly bigger screen which maybe better for comics main reason you want an e reader- are you wanting to use it to read books only. Or also for magazi

Dismissione dei vecchi Kindle
ho sia un kobo libra colour che un kobo clara colour, ti consiglio vivamente il libra, ma solo se ti interessano solamente i colori, poiche' lo schermo risulta grigiastro invece di bianco carta

Getting my GF a Kindle for Christmas
Colour is the only difference between the Clara Color and Clara BW. Libra only has a colour version and has a pencil for notes, dropbox/cloud stuff, buttons to turn pages. A lot of people in the kobo sub frigging hate the colour versions. It's basically an extra layer over the black and white screen

Confused?
I just got my Palma 2 few days ago, and from my experience using the Kobo Clara Colour, the colour screen isn't very impressive to my eyes so I'm sticking with my Palma 2 for the moment.

Kobo Libra Colour @ $180 Worth it?
I dont care for the Kobo Clara color, it has some shadows and in graphic novels or Manga, the text boxes are too small to read comfortably for me personally. Haven't tried the other one, but for color, im leaning towards a tablet, going to get an off season samsung, without a data plan they are reas
