Kindle or Kobo?
I really love my Pocketbook Verse Pro. It handles a ton of formats, and sideloading is the best experience I’ve had. I’ve owned kindles, and I currently own a Kobo Clara BW that I rarely use now.

E-reader (Kindle vs Kobo)
my review here (on this subreddit) compared a Kindle PW 12th Gen and a Kobo Clara BW and half of it is about the lack of Kobo support for annotations and highlights. In short, no Kobo annotations don’t sync to anything. You can’t even export annotations for Libby Books, non-kobo store books and SOME

If you are looking for an eReader this Christmas, there is one from Europe - Pocketbook/Vivlio
every e-ink producer is color right now Nope. The Kindle line is still largely BW, and other well known options like Pocketbook or Boox still produce BW equivalents for each product line unlike Kobo, where they only have BW for their entry level device (Clara BW), and their giant outdated tablet fro

Ancient Sony ereader PDF handling seems better than some modern ereaders? Is that evidence that I should buy one for cheap?
From my PocketBook-view: it doesn't matter at all what videos to watch, and how well PDFs run or not run there (exceptions are simple PDFs like novels that only contain a cover + text). It depends on the specific PDFs you want to read. A very small PDF can run so crappy that it's basically unusable,

No, PocketBook and Kobo just do have different priorities. I would say Kobo offers a more stable and basic OS, while PocketBook offers more features, but also add some... quirks and irks? 😂 Also does Kobo may have better programmers, while PocketBooks is more friendly in adding new features. And the

Suggestion: other e-reader apps
I appreciate that! But, unfortunately I have no idea how to do any of that. I’m not that “tech savvy”. Just wish they would have a native app like the Kindle app to simplify things. I have a Kobo Clara BW, but would be nice to just bring one device sometimes.

I'm Flummoxed With uploading
I suspect this is a new bug, either with Calibre or with the new Kobo firmware. I have a brand new Kobo Clara BW and I'm seeing the exact same problem you outline: I transfer books, eject, and they don't show up on the Kobo. Running: KoboTouch Plugin 2.6.0 Calibre 8.16.1 (most recent) Kobo Clara BW
