Wharfdale Linton or Klipsch RP-600MII

Wharfedale all the way . I own the Klipsch RP 600m II and I hated them. Absolutely hated the boosted highs and scooped out mids. No warmth or details. Just screechy highs. I bought the Lintons and I’ve never been happier.

I have no idea what I’m doing

I would choose different speakers. (Besides your Crutchfield links don’t work. Don’t try to escape the underscores.) EAC review of Klipsch RP-600M Spending less on the amplifier (go with e.g. Yamaha A-S301) and slightly over budget with better speakers. E.g. ELAC Debut 3.0 DB63-BK (EAC review).

What would be the best speakers for my office setup?

Sorry but the Klipsch you mentioned aren’t “super efficient”. They have bog standard sensitivity for bookshelf speakers. (And if using an Class AB amplifier, their impedance and phase makes them harder to drive than average. EPDR is around 2Ω from 100Hz to 1kHz.) EAC review of Klipsch RP-600M

Desktop speaker stands for a pair of Klipsch RP-600M's?

Are you talking about the wall-mounted stands? The Klipsch RP-600M do not have any mounting hardware. None of their other stands will work on top of the existing filing cabinet; they're pretty much at the right height now. I don't want to raise them more than 8-12".

Audio side quest

That is a large living room. Unfortunately the Klipsch speakers are rear ported, and I have mine on approximately 60 cm tall Target stands. I have an open plan main floor, my audio listening rig is at the top of the L in an L shaped floor plan where the long side of the L is approximately 14.7m long
