I'm not handy with the soldering iron. So I sent it off to someone who is, Upgrade Keyboards, which is an authorized partner with Kinesis. They sell customized Kinesis keyboards and are willing to work on aftermarket Kinesis keyboards. So I just bought a Kinesis Advantage 2 from eBay and then sent i

Wrist pain after touch typing + split keyboard
I’ve tried many split keyboards, nothing beats kinesis advantage 2 which has been my daily driver for about 8 years now. I did try the advantage 360, but ended up returning it and just doing the stapelberg mod which lets you use QMK instead of their rubbish key mapping software. That way you get the

Programmer looking for a split keyboard (trackpad integrated or budget-friendly)
RK S70 is a good pick if you’re just starting and don’t want to spend a ton. keychron Q11 is nice too, but it might be more than you want to pay. For split boards with a trackpad, choices are kinda slim... Kinesis Advantage2 is out there, not cheap, but people seem to like it. If you get a standard

Moonlander alternative
My 5 cents. ERGO S-1 DIY. Has the layout and keywell of Kinesis Advantage2 but split with possibility to be wireless (S-1) or wired (V-1). I guess it could tick many boxes. Ergo Split Wireless/Wired Cheap This could secure your marriage for long time. Let us know what you decided! Cheers

Travel keyboard for Advantage 360 user
The ErgoDox is based on the Kinesis Advantage layout. There are many unassembled kits available and a few ready-built offerings around. I’d go for a build kit where you can choose the switches, plates and cases. You could perhaps go for choc switches to have a thinner, lighter keeb. A completely bui

Voice dictation software?
The Kinesis Pro. That's an oldie. I still have my Kinesis Essential. Don't know if still works, though. If you haven't already, I highly recommend buying an inexpensive mechanical keyboard, trying out the plethora of Cherry MX switches, finding one that you love, and then buying an Advantage 2 off o

should i learn dvorak or colemak?
My keyboard (Kinesis Advantage2) does the remap onboard so you don’t have to involve the computer knowing anything about your layout, so long as you can use a USB keyboard. I’m sure there must be less weird / less expensive keyboards that offer this as well.

Split KB with Trackball/Trackpad around EUR200 recs?
For a split keyboard around EUR 200 with a trackball or trackpad, check out the Kinesis Advantage2 or the ErgoDox EZ... Both are good picks and can help you ditch the mouse. most split keyboards let you program layers, so you can add your accented letters without extra keys. Building a keyboard is f
