I have a Kinesis Advantage 2. For me it is not about the switches, but the ergonomics. The thumb cluster is such a good quality of life feature, I don't understand why isn't mainstream. The thumbs are our strongest fingers and what we do with them? Hitting the same giant spacebar... It's just stupid

Your layout pictures not an Ergodox, but the default layout of Kinesis Advantage 2. That too can be an option. ErgoMax and ExtraDox are variations of Ergodox with a function row. Redox and ErgoDash are other similar-shaped keyboards (without a function row).

Long time Kinesis fan here: I’ve been using the advantage for 15+ years. At home I have a 360 pro - one of the original first 500 run from the presale in 2022. I added a few macros to the ZMK firmware - and it has sat pretty much unchanged since. The Bluetooth is stable usually, but a PITA. As it ne

I’ve been using the Kinesis Contoured (now Advantage 2) since 1994. It was a game changer for me. Finding one for free is insanely lucky. There are many mods/upgrades worth considering: replacing the keycaps (SA row 3), replace the controller, adding damping inside, and advanced: swapping switches (

I was making this decision recently, and while initially I was leaning towards the Moonlander, I eventually realized the voyager was the better option for me. I'm sure you've considered your personal pros and cons of each. For me, the overall benefits of the voyager won out, and I'm super happy with

I found that the kinesis advantage2 was better for me since I have smaller hands, and I already liked the kinesis2 a lot more than just thought since it’s not getting used at all I would just sell it

You'd have to check with your own IT department, but you don't need to install any software to use a Kinesis Advantage 2. And you can program the macros on another computer (Never have actually used this feature). You can also reprogram the keys on another computer. So you can program the keyboard a

I wish they were making this older Kinesis Advantage 2 but with a usb-c port (and/or bluethooth).

I'm not handy with the soldering iron. So I sent it off to someone who is, Upgrade Keyboards, which is an authorized partner with Kinesis. They sell customized Kinesis keyboards and are willing to work on aftermarket Kinesis keyboards. So I just bought a Kinesis Advantage 2 from eBay and then sent i
