I own a Keychron K13 Max QMK since few months and never faced an issue like the one you describe. I guess it is a faulty one and they should replace it for a good one. Let us know what their support says and the solution they propose.

Just got a k13 Max as a travel keyboard for work and got used to it seemlessly. Same gripe with the keycaps not being shinethrough (annoyingly a UK-ISO layout keycaps are hard af to find). Haven't had the double presses yet. The keyboard itself seems great, but i think it is just Keychron's support

Re "K13 Pro stuck in pairing mode": It doesn't help much, but Bluetooth pairing mode is expected to time out after a few minutes Perhaps 255 seconds (4 mins 25 secs).

Keychron K13 Max is pretty close so I might just get that. I’m also totally fine with not have f-keys. Hotkeys are a-okay. And iirc I can map the keyboard as I see fit?
