I ended up getting the Keychron K10 HE after trying a few keyboards in store. I like that I can change the actuation settings without having to switch out the switches to begin with. Thanks all!

Optical is outdated, it is a dead tech only pushed by Razer. All of these manufacturers' (Razer, SteelSeries, Logitech, Corsair, Asus etc) boards are overpriced, underperforming, low to mid quality things that you can buy much cheaper from other manufacturers. Or, for the same price, you can get MUC

Get a board with open source QMK firmware that uses the VIA web app for configuration. If you want a magnetic board, get a Keychron K HE series board, Keychron is about the only company that makes magnetic keyboards with QMK firmware. K2, K8, or K10 HE.

Keychron Q6 HE. HE switches are the new hot stuff for gaming. Alternatively, K10 HE.

Check out the Keychron K10 HE; it’s a good pick for a Hall effect keyboard. For the mouse, maybe check out Logitech or Corsair. they usually have reliable stuff that works well with your keyboard Their software is easy to use too. Also, hit up keyboardyeti for some comparisons and guides to help you

Not a lot of good fullsize options. I went from fullsize to 96% and don't regret it. If you're open to 96%, M2 V5 VIA is great for the price and you can grab a switch tester to see what kind of switches you like. Yunzii AL98 is also good. I tried: Keychron Q6: bad stock stabalizers, didn't like the

If you want the best of both worlds, you could always swap it out for a TMR version like the Keychron K10 HE or Keychron Q6 HE 8K.

Thank you so much for the reply. Unfortunately as I said I am completely new to keyboard building so this is way beyond me. At this point I have given up on the ansiso layout. Also in my search I found that magnetic keyboards are just a little bit more expensive than mechanical ones and I assume tha
