System upgrade

I love my R3 Meta with dual subs integrated with room perfect. Most people would probably say my equipment vastly exceeds my speaker (ie spend 80% of your budget on speakers) but I have yet to see a set I would want to move up to. Kef reference? $10k for a 2% improvement in the low end doesn’t seem

Talk me down from this: KEF R3's vs. BMR Monitor

The kefs are excellent speakers. I think they play well with untreated rooms bc they’re not quite as wide as the bmr. You know you like them, I’d try to listen to r3 meta if you haven’t yet.

LS50 With Wiim Ultra or LS50 Wireless II

I bought a pair of KEF LS60s then a few months later a pair of R3 Metas with a WiiM. I wanted to understand the difference and education is expensive. This year I bought a Buckeye amp with a Bluesound Node ICON for the same reason - is the WiiM under powered? Is the DAC in the Bluesound better? Does

Marantz M1. Powerfull enough, or should I opgrade?

Stumbled across the post doing some googling for another reason, but hopefully this helps: Andrew Robinson reviewed the M1 and tested with B&W 705 Signature, KEF R3 Meta, Yamaha NS-800A, and SVS Titans, and was blown away by how well it performed. His testing room is relatively large and has 9'+ cei

Sound of Kef Reference 1 Meta vs Kev Reference 3 Meta

Try Hegel h400 for amp. Auditioned my R3 with this and other speakers. It is also what KEF uses to demo at shows. R3 are plenty for me in a similar size open floor plan space. My living room opens to kitchen and hallway. R3 Meta available for $1500 used R3 for $999.

Kef R3 vs Q7 Meta

R3 is more linear/flat but tends brighter in the top end. The Q7 Meta goes about 30hz lower and rolls off very smoothly. The Q7 Meta is also much more similar in sound to your Q6 Meta so I'd see that as a big plus. My preference would be the Q7s for home theater and blending with your center. They'd

Advice / Thoughts on Office / Media Room Setup?

"Bookshelf" speakers can surprise you. I upgraded from Q750 floor standers to R3 Meta bookshelves, the R3s threw a much bigger soundstage and went a hell of a lot deeper in bass. That being said, the R5s do make sense, as if you include KEF stands, the savings between R3 and R5 are not that big. The

Genuine question: do some of you guys just not treat your rooms?

Admittedly, I do not have any acoustic panels up on the walls but did implement floor-carpeting and arranged furniture around the 2.1 speaker placement so myself and guests (up to 8 or 9) can all enjoy high-fidelity sound that guests would otherwise not care to invest or listen to. Subwoofer is plac

building stereo setup (have some nice components already, want to get nicer for stereo!)

You give budget, which is helpful, but no information regarding listening preferences and music genres you prefer. Once we know that we can start with recommendations. Rule of thumb, pick your speakers first. Everything else should be chosen to create synergy with your speakers. Personally I prefer

Amp recommendation for kef r3 meta (please read the details) is

Okay, but the Wiim Pro is around 2W - that's far below the minimum requirements for most music. In general I agree that you should spend in proportion, but $2500 and $500 is not that strange a ratio. For that money you can get a very reasonable Denon amplifier. It does work better if you pay a bit m
