Smart my new place for 2026
on the audio routing question, yes it's doable but the answer depends on how you get audio out of each TV. HDMI ARC only carries one source at a time, so if you want to pull the TV's current audio (not just the apple TV / shield feed) into other rooms, the cleanest path is an HDMI audio extractor on

What does it feel like to hear real dubstep on big sound systems?
I have a relatively modest setup with kef q350 L&R, q650 center, and HSU VTF-2 MK5 sub. Q650 is irrelevant I guess because I listen in stereo. Main listening position 6 feet back. It's unreal. The soundstage is as wide as the speakers. Music coming from the wall. Really hard to describe. The speaker

Going to a 5.1 system with LS50 metas?
I'd say as long as you keep with Kef, the Q6 should do well. just be aware that like 50% of sound will go through the center for movies. even a single Q3 is great value. I run a Q350 for mine and it's great.

First Speaker Build - Troels Gravesen's SEAS-NEXTEL 2F
Without much to compare them to that I've personally heard - they sound amazing. Previously I had a pair of KEF Q350 bookshelf speakers, which were great, but the room the stereo lives in is quite large and they just seemed to lack. I'm a little skeptical about the top face around the tweeter/mid ra

Q4 pricing and whether they're a step up from q350 and q150
The Q1 (successor to Q150) has the 5.25" driver while the Q3 (successor to Q350) has the 6.25" driver. The Q4 has the 5.25" driver and thus is closer to the Q1. That said, the meta series includes a few refinements that were not in the Q350 or Q150 and neither the drivers nor the crossovers are iden

KEF purchase (or not)?
You're right. All KEF speakers need 4-ohm stable amplification, and any that rely solely on a single Uni-Q driver for full-range (Q150/Q1 Meta, Q350/Q3 Meta, LS50/LS50 Meta) for anything other than nearfield listening must be used with a subwoofer and high-passed to protect them from low frequencies

Looking for a clean ~2.1 audiophilic [computer] office sound system.
Grab a pair of Kef q350 on clearance from Best Buy for $400, wait for the rsl speedwoofer 10e to come back in stock for $330 and grab a nice integrated amp like the Yamaha a-s301 for $380. This will kick ass and be way better than any of the “kits” you’ve been looking at.

I'm legit teary-eyed over here (new Q350's)
Good deal! Last November I demoed the Q350, Polk R200, ELAC UB52, and I thought those Q350’s sounded the best to me. Made me realize I really liked the KEF sound signature so much I ended up building an entire home theater around Concerto metas and the meta series. But like you, I saw some Q350’s BB

It depends on your budget, of course! If you are in the UK I would suggest looking at a few KEF models. These are also available in white and with quite nice-looking and colour-coordinated speaker stands. The stands do help both to integrate them into the room and to improve the sound quality. KEF h

Center Channel for q350s?
The KEF coaxial speakers do very well placed on their sides due to their excellent vertical dispersion. This characteristic is kind of unique to the coaxial design. I agree that the most cost effective solution is another q350, placed on its side if space is an issue. IMHO the q350 is a bit better c
