KEF R5 Meta, worth the upgrade?

Yes, going from the Q1 Meta to the R5 Meta is a noticeable upgrade. But you're basing your desire to upgrade off having heard the Fyne FP702s. That's.... confusing..... For the record, IMO KEF and Fyne Audio speakers don't sound super similar. So if something about the Fyne speakers really appealed

I like to listen while I cook

Those shelves are so high up and you’ll be standing basically right underneath them. Whether you have larger speakers against the wall or smaller speakers pulled further out, it seems like you’re decided between two non-ideal options. I know you already mounted the shelves and ran the wiring, but it

What is the retail equivalent model of Hivi Diy3.1a system?

Wharfedale Evo 4.2 or 5.2 are very similar to the Hivi 3.1a. But those speakers are substantially more expensive. Hivi 3.1, especially with the modded crossover, is a good value for the money. You could probably snag a pair of evo 4.2 on the used market for about $600-$700. Alternatively you could b

What part of the hobby is 90% placebo but you still enjoy it?

I have a kef room, a paradigm room and the forte ii room. I’ve paired the forte ii with a Yamaha rxv800 and a Sony cd player from 1992. I read that fear of the same era works better together but not sure if I buy it. I was using a laptop with an apple dongle for the dac and I will say the Sony cd pl

KEF Q Concerto Meta + Eversolo Play

I have an Eversolo Play and KEF Q1 Meta's that have 4 ohm impedance in my home office. I know these are smaller than the concertos. I think they sound great and while I'm no audiophile I notice a huge improvement compared to streaming to my bluetooth Marshall speaker. HTH
