LSX IIs

I updated my KEF LSX II LT speakers this morning and they stopped connecting to Wi-fi. I thought my speakers were toast since I tried all day fixing them so I ended up exchanging them for a new set, and the new set connected flawlessly to my Wi-fi! KEF LSX II - mine updated automatically... The small software App I use to Auto turn on/off when PC boots, has stopped working :(They no longer reply to a ping (I dont recall if this was aways the way?) The device name is now blank and it wont take/hold a name

I asked KEF about the LSX II LT firmware update behavior and received this response: As it stand, the speakers will auto-update directly from the internet as long as there's a connection. It does not come via the Connect app, although you can manually check for updates. A bit concerning considering

The only differences between the original LSX (I have them) and the LSX II and LSX II LT are the electronics. The speakers have NOT been upgraded with the Meta pads. LSX v1 uses the older, dodgier KEF Control and KEF Stream apps, which are not as seamless as KEF Connect. Volume control is a PITA. I

Costco now selling KEF LSX II LT for $500 - and there's a reason. Their app, connectivity, etc...totally sucks! Right up there with VW getting pop'd for manipulating emissions via software....LOL. Doesn't the Kef Connect app work? I know it doesn't work for my speakers (LSX II LT), but that's because the software is shite, in principle it should work.
