Sadly you're right. I've had similar experience with KEF. Their passive speakers are worth it tho. And for the price the LS50 wireless 2 are actually good. Not the LSX nor the LS60 tho - just same performance as LS50 wireless 2.

How come your hifi dealer is pushing you a 7000usd speakers despite barely letting you auditioned it. Put aside the Kef LS60, I'll avoid stores like that.

I've listened to the LS60's many times at my local dealer. I love the Lotus green color he has and tried so hard to get them to sound great. They fit spaces well and are "common room" friendly. kef ls60 is like much inferior compared to how these sound. They are nice - would compare them with the meridian audio active ones - but the tech in this is so cool. uwb to sync is next level stuff. + meridian audio needs a whole bunch of properietary boxes to make it work well. Personally ive never liked kef stuff. Ive listened to their xio in an audition recently. Their bookshelves i think the passive that are higher end that these and watched reviews on their ls60. Bad electronics and bad drivers (so many pictures of KEF drivers blowing away) I know this is KEF sub but for $6000 I can get nice integrated amp + a decent pair of speakers + a sub that will sound a lot better than the LS60. A used NAD M32 / Cambridge EVO 150 / NAD C3050 etc. come to mind You could
