LS50 Metas for this small home office?
I have a set of passive LS50s w/ SVS SB1000 pro for my bedroom desk. At the desk, the imaging is mediocre. On the bench behind my desk (roughly where your sofa is) they sound fine. I had a set of LSXs before and they had better imaging at the desk, but noticeably less “fullness” in sound. At the end

Speaker Advice
Depends on your budget and size, but Kanto Yu4 or Yu6 are good. You can also get a receiver(with Bluetooth compatibility) and get two powered speakers.

If you need cheap these https://www.crutchfield.com/p_580GX30ARB/Onkyo-Creator-Series-GX-30ARC-Black.html If you can spend more these would be much better match for the RT82 and available in a selection of finishes. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_310YU4MB/Kanto-YU4-Matte-Black.html Others may suggest K

Need help choosing a external phono pre amp for my set up
Opinions on Klipsch like these are divided as some users find them too bright/harsh. So might be worth considering Kanto, most of those have phono input too. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_310YU4MB/Kanto-YU4-Matte-Black.html Available in a variety of finishes too.

Recommend a simple beginner setup
There are many 1990s Pioneer, Sony, Rotel, Technics, Dual turntables around and sold locally where you can listen to them before buying. With a new belt and a recent cartridge will give good service and better than the low end budget turntables seen. A pair of powered speakers with built in phono st

r/vinyl Weekly Questions Thread for the week of December 22, 2025
I recommend the Kanto YU4 speakers. Currently on sale. They're powered, so no, nothing else required to use them.

Hey there! I recommend either the NEUMI BS5P-ARC if you have the space for them or the Kanto YU4.

Turntable Guides
5.25" can be good for the room size. 4" may be better to fit on that size desk. I have gone from 5.25" down to 3" speakers on my desk and a 12" subwoofer under my desk. Also powered speakers can be a good options for a desk. Some add USB input for your computer and some have a built in phono preamp

Is this a good buy?
Solid deck, ditch the rest. Aim for an amp and two speakers (or at least two powered speakers) for stereo sound. You can source a used stand for way less than that one. What do you already have from FB Marketplace for $150? ETA: just noticed you're looking at TTL - they're great! This package is $10

What combo should I get?
Budget, future plans, expectations? Location, local stores? I went into a dealer looking for a low cost upgrade to my turntable, amp, speakers traditional set up. Instead of selling me something he knew was not going to be better he offered to set up my systems and compare it against their pick of t
