Need help choosing a external phono pre amp for my set up
Opinions on Klipsch like these are divided as some users find them too bright/harsh. So might be worth considering Kanto, most of those have phono input too. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_310YU4MB/Kanto-YU4-Matte-Black.html Available in a variety of finishes too.

Newbie setup help
If you go for the powered Kanto Yu4 or Yu6, they have a phono preamp built-in, so you could skip the Fosi. (As long as your TT is positioned close enough to the main speaker to take advantage of the built-in phono, that is.)

best budget speakers with a built in phono preamp?
Passive and separate speaker amp you can later upgrade one part at a time. If you need to go powered then Kanto YU4 or 6 with built in phono preamp are good. Or 4" Kanto YU $199 on sale plus a Fosi X5 Phono or Emotive Phono https://emotiva.com/products/ph-1-phono-stage Or 4" Onkyo on sale with built

Wiim Ultra Bluetooth
You could sell the a5+ and get the Kanto Yu4/Yu6 as an upgrade. Built in BT, phono pre, usb + optical dac for computer and tv. Keeps your set up simple and similar to what you have.

suggestions for good record player
Something like the excellent Kanto YU4 and an AT turntable YU4 includes a phono stage pre-amp. The speakers are powered and have various inputs, amplification and nothing further is needed. To add streaming and internet radio you can cast from a mobile phone or tablet or get a Wiim Mini. https://www

Most customisable?
If you do end up going for the Kanto Yu4s, then since they also give you a phono preamp to leverage, then I would at least take a minute to think about maybe spending a little more to get an RT82 rather than an RT81. An RT82 currently costs $100 more than a normal RT81 (or just $50 more if you're ac

r/vinyl Weekly Questions Thread for the week of September 29, 2025
Sounds like you already know--you need speakers, and an amplifier. That's the most affordable route because if you get speakers and an amp that are of a vintage with the turntable, they'll be pretty cheap. You can also get powered speakers, something like the Kanto YU4 that have a dedicated input fo

need advice! dual 1225
If you want to go super simple, Kanto sells of powered bookshelf speakers (Yu4 and Yu6) with a built in phono preamp. It’ll get you up and running and give you time to really learn about what you’d like. The Yu4 is over budget at MSRP, but I bet you can find them on sale. I’d pair it with a vintage

I've done a bit of research and I'm fairly certain this is the setup I will be buying, am I missing anything?
Ah, I see. You might find this helpful just for the knowledge part: https://imgur.com/a/receivers-speakers-phono-preamp-f0my7 So to answer your question, yes. You need a phono pre-amp to convert the signal your turntable sends out. This phono stage can be in your turntable, it can be in your speaker

Simplified help needed
These are powered and have a phono stage (which you'll need), so all you'd need to do is plug in your new deck and go: https://skybygramophone.com/products/kanto-yu4-powered-speakers
