Look for desktop studio monitors. I use Kanto Ora4. P. S. Forget about the subwoofer. Small size (that you’re looking for) and quality don’t go together.

When would you even need that? Plugging in an aux cable? I need it at my computer desk with a sub-out port for my still-in-box Kanto sub8. I’m also considering the Kanto ORA4 which are a bit cheaper, but probably a lower tier product anyway. $350 vs $500.

I.e. they have controls to lower the bass if you place the speakers near one or more boundaries (wall, desktop, corner, etc.).
