SFF Speaker system?
Look for desktop studio monitors. I use Kanto Ora4. P. S. Forget about the subwoofer. Small size (that you’re looking for) and quality don’t go together.

Why are LSX II $1500 on their site and only $500 at my local Costco?
When would you even need that? Plugging in an aux cable? I need it at my computer desk with a sub-out port for my still-in-box Kanto sub8. I’m also considering the Kanto ORA4 which are a bit cheaper, but probably a lower tier product anyway. $350 vs $500.

Audio only starts at 20%
This fixed my USB speakers having no sound below about 20% volume on PipeWire/WirePlumber.My speakers were exposing a bad hardware volume curve. This makes PipeWire ignore that and handle the volume normally.First, find the USB ID for your device: lsusb Mine showed: 8888:17b6 Kanto Audio ORA4 by Kan

Quality Desktop Gaming / Movie speakers.
Please note that powered speaker type active studio monitors, (i.e. speakers that have built-in volume knob on their front), often don’t have easy subwoofer outputs. (E.g. Kali Audio LP-UNF (EAC review) or Adam Audio D3V (EAC review, EAC YT review).) So maybe consider something like Kali Audio LP-6v

Advice Needed: Near/Mid-Field Speakers under $700 Upgrading from Edifier MR4 (Active/Passive options)
Active studio monitors (like Kali Audio products) have boundary reinforcement switches. I.e. they have controls to lower the bass if you place the speakers near one or more boundaries (wall, desktop, corner, etc.). That’s not a feature you are going to find in passive speakers or many powered speake

RT82 - Preamp and Speakers - flying blind
If this was a few years ago, I would have said passive is the only way to go for a serious hi-fi setup. But a lot has changed in the last few years. DSP has become much cheaper and more common. And high-performance powered speakers have become cheaper and more accessible. The simple reality is that

I really appreciate your help. I ended up getting Kanto Ora4s and the sub8 after watching a few videos from Jasper Tech. I just wasn’t interested in getting an external DAC and Amp and Inactive speakers. Apparently the original Kanto Ora’s are top for their size. They also have an independent sub ou

Need a desktop DAC/preamp to integrate an SVS 3000 Micro sub with Kali LP UNF active speakers
Honestly, with a $300-400 budget, I think you would be better off with either switching to a subwoofer that's easier to integrated with the Kali LP UNF. Or switching to set of speakers that will play nicer with a standard subwoofer. For example, you can sell your SVS 3000 Micro subwoofer and buy the
