My Home Studio Setup- Hoping That One Day I'm Gonna Make It
So my mixes used to be muddy and I had hs5's before this monitors (LYD 7). When I purchased these it revealed the truth thanks to it's revealing low mid range. As I get used to them I realized that the top end sounds softer than I like so I calibrated it with sonarworks and they ended up with being

Kali IN-5 vs Kali IN-8 in small room
From my experience, larger speakers always sound better. While the Kali IN5 and IN8 have similar low‑frequency extension on paper, the IN8 has significantly lower distortion. I’ve never bought into the idea that you have to match speaker size to room size — I’d always go bigger without hesitation. T

Am I stressing too much over trying to get a perfect phantom center?
Kali's are pretty much against the short wall with the desk centered. Tweeters measured 3'6" apart with me sitting 3'10" from each one. Materials on all sides are made of rockwool safe n sound with them being positioned at the same measurements on both sides. Room is treated but without clouds. Issu

Affordable 3-way monitors for mixing in 600 sq ft basement
I did a comparison for smaller 5 inch monitors as nearfields in my 300 sq ft home studio and compared Kali, Neumann, Dynaudio, jbl, genelec and I have to say the Kali sounded WAY better than they had any right to at the price point. We’re in the top two. I’m gonna bet the in-8 would be the same. I e

Suggestions for new audio setup
What a coincidence, I used the Shape 65 for a few years and now switched to Kali IN-8 v2! In short, Focals have their own sound, Kali much less so. That doesn’t make the Kali’s cold and clinically analytic, instead they’re what I’d call warm neutral. First impressions of the bass was that it’s subst

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?
I can only speak for the MTM MK1, I switched to a pair of Kali IN-8 V2. I am a bedroom producer too and I was worried the Kalis would be too much for the size of my room but I am very satisfied with their sound and how they interact with the room. To my ears, the MTMs sound more like multimedia spea

Adam a7v vs Kali audio in-8. What should I buy for my home studio?
For starters my home studio is extensively treated. I was a little disappointing in the IN-8' Wave 2's for a few reasons. The build quality/fit and finish were lacking. Not bad by any means, but more of a budget look and feel in person and not nearly as good as the Mackie XR824's they temporarily re

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?
You might not blast the speakers but you do want to consider how much headroom they have without distortion. I'd say another worthy though pricier contender might be the Neumann KH 120 II. I'd take those over the Kali which I think suffer from a lot of self noise. Not sure if that problem was solved

People using topping DACs, do they improve the performance of your headphones?
Fresh audio professional here, but I do audio for 20yrs, I do mostly audio restoration and classical/acoustic stuff. I bought DX5 mk2, there is noticeable improvement coming from NI Komplete 6 and Audient Evo and SSL 2+ mk2 and Babyface. My headphones Ollo Audio sound way more focused with clearer b

Help choosing speakers
Kali IN8 is a 3 way active monitor so it’s going to have a better stereo image. It’s probably the best monitor at the price. Saying that I’d avoid it if you’re in a bedroom because it’s too big and pair with a sub doesn’t matter how much room treatment you have you’re going to be fighting standing w
