The European version of the JBL 1300 mk2 has 1200watts going to the 2 8 in drivers in the sub. The 990f has 300watts going to the 2 8in drivers in the sub. The JBL will destroy the 990f in the sub department. The 990f sub is truly underwhelming

How about the JBL new model MK2 1300 MK2 5.1.2? If you are a bass lover, then JBL is a beast in the market for bass. It's hard for other soundbars to beat JBL in a bass competition.

Be aware that the JBL Bar 1300 MK1 subwoofer might be rated at 300W but in real tests, it can only go up to 100W, so I would never ever expect the subwoofer from MK2 to get to 1200W if that's what they are advertising. I own the 990F. The JBL 11.1.4 soundbars are better for music. One of them (the cheaper) 1300 mk2 is more bassist too. But it was 25% more expensive when I bought my Samsung.
