You can for sure get a pair of professionally-decent audio monitors for $300-$500 US. They won't be great and I wouldn't use them to finish audio for Netflix or whatever, but for most corporate work, YouTube, and lots of other stuff, there are a bunch of good options. I got the JBL 306P and they sound so much better than the over ears I’d used previously.

For $800 you could get a WiiM Ultra used as a preamp with JBL 306P v2 powered speakers. That would be a banger of a second system.

If you can at all, hear the monitors in person before you buy. People's tastes and ears vary. For example, some people like the Yamaha HS5, yet I just don't get along with it.
