Help my pea brain understand. Why is Mullvad seemingly preferred over Protonvpn?

You can setup Proton with similar levels of anonymity / privacy. It takes more steps. Most people a) don't want to take those steps, and b) are completely unaware of them. At some point you get an echo chamber of people repeating "Mullvad" for reasons that aren't true anymore....You can have a rando

Connect faster & easier with new Proton VPN apps on Windows, iOS, and Android!

Still no IPv6 and Secure DNS support on Windows and iOS. Also a latency indicator would be nice, like IVPN and Windscribe do

MEGATHREAD - About the influx of the CEO donation

fair on fearing the censors but "nativism" is underselling it as remigration means expelling people who already naturalized, stripping citizenship, and you literally can't do that without the registries and tracking that ARE a surveillance state. like that's the same machinery you fled just pointed

Why are the mods taking down posts talking about CEO donating money to racist/extremist politicians?

You are free to keep using Mullvad. No one forces you to switch VPN provider. For everyone else that cares about privacy and less state surveillance, there are other providers of VPN services out there to pick from. It takes me less than 15 minutes to switch my entire network from Mullvad to IVPN. I

How is IVPN's Linux client?

I switched from mullvad because of the ceos politics, and ivpn has been good to me. The client is easy to use on Linux and their payment methods are as secure as mullvad. In regards to your questions, I have ivpns split tunneling on always, and they have a setting to not connect to the Internet unle

I can't update Flatpak fully due to internet issues. A VPN might work. Is there a good VPN for Linux Mint?

IMO Mullvad is the best for Mint. The ProtonVPN Linux app still sucks. I've heard iVPN are also good, but never tried them. You can download the app as a .deb file from their website.

modDNS beta launch - Audited, open-source DNS filtering service by IVPN

Great news! I've been hoping for an alternative to NextDNS and Controld. Will this service be free for IVPN Pro users and will it be integrated with IVPN in the future?

The front end of this app could use some work, but after my initial hurdles and it became a matter of set and forget the functional side of it has been great so far. Have to admit I still think Mullvad was the better all round experience, but on the flip side that recent scandal is enough for me to

VPN Choices?

I used Mullvad and IVPN. Both work well and are easy to install & update, which is important to me as I use Linux and am not a Linux Pro. They both claim to not keep logs. Ivpn was a little quicker.

Pros and cons of Proton ecosystem

Filen for cloud. Which is really good (and it's literally two clicks to set up a local mount on Linux). I got 100gb for 40 euros lifetime. The only downside being the lack of integrated office suite (so I have Murena as a secondary cloud provider as they have an OnlyOffice integration). For mail I u
