is dji osmo 360 that bad?

I've had the insta360 X2, X4, X5 and the DJI 360. And I'll choose the DJI every time. The insta360 software is better (especially on Android), but I edit in DaVinci Resolve anyway so that's the less important part for me. But their cameras are really bloated and the lower image quality is more notic

I'm seriously considering selling my X5 — and it's not because of the hardware.

Fair enough. If the timestamp issue never bothered your workflow, then waiting for the X6 makes total sense. For me the bug is the reason I'm looking at other brands entirely rather than waiting for the next Insta360 model, since there's no guarantee the X6 app will fix what the X5/X4/X3/X2/ONE X ap

[MEGATHREAD] Insta360 → iPhone export timestamp bug: years-old, officially acknowledged, still not fixed. Let’s consolidate here.

UPDATE 29th July— this isn't limited to the X5/X4/X3/X2/ONE X lineup either. A user in a related thread just confirmed the same metadata problem on the Luna Ultra, Insta360's flagship gimbal camera launched in June 2026, a completely different product line, not even a 360 camera: "I got the Insta360

Monthly Megathread: Ask Here for Help - August, 2026

August monthly thread. Same request as May, June, and July: the export timestamp bug. Quick recap for anyone new: every photo or flat video exported from the Insta360 app to your phone's camera roll gets stamped with today's date instead of the actual capture date. Documented reports go back to 2019

My buddy insisted Insta360 X5 destroys the Osmo 360 - so I built a comparison tool to prove him wrong

It's true. I've used the insta360 X2, X3, X5 and the quality of all of them is terrible when you see it on a bigger screen. However, I've been using the DJI 360 and I can see that the image quality is definitely better than any insta360 product out there, when it comes to video. When it's photos, it

Advice: Build 1: X5 (new) and GoPro 10 or Build 2: X3(new) and Ace2 Pro(new) - Exclusively Underwater Use

TLDR: Definitely the X5 (or even the X4 Air) over the Ace Pro 2. X5 is way better image quality over the X3. As the X5 has two Type-1/1.28 sensors (75mm^2 area) with 8K 360 video. When you crop that down to 16:9 aspect ratio that is somewhere between 4K and 2.7K video resolution). The X3 has Type-1/

Gopro12 vs insta 360x4 air

Years ago, I got a Insta360 X2 as a gift and it quickly replaced my GoPro Hero 9. I then upgraded to a X4 and Ace Pro and I still use the X4 90% of the time. The X4 Air is superior to my X4, bigger/better sensors, field replaceable lenses, lighter weight (the X4/X5 are 200g, but I liked how the X2 w

Fun with the Bay ST in the wind and rain

It’s a 360 camera attached to a pole that mounts right behind where I sit. The camera (insta360 one x2) does a really good job at painting out the pole to give the floating effect.

Is it worth to have have an Insta360 for capturing rides, occasionally?

I use the X2 for a few years now. My feelings are mixed. First of all, the "don't need to care about the angles" is not really true because even in 360 mode (you can use it in a normal action cam mode as well), the image will be distorted around the edges of the frame. And I am not talking about clo

$199 Akaso 360 review

Hi I haven’t done a side by side with x2 but this one has two 1/2.0 inch sensors. Insta360’s advantage is the app (both mobile and desktop) which is more sophisticated and has more advanced features than Akaso’s app. Akaso’s app is similar to Kandao’s.
