OMEN Transcend 14

I have an Omen 14 Transcend laptop (Core Ultra 9 285H, RTX 5070) and noticed the same thing. CPU would go up to 100 degrees and start thermal throttling. Only happened in Hunt, despite having manually adjusted PL1, PL2 and PL4 power limits. Ended up just disabling CPU boost entirely for when I play.

Oh I HATE this so much. My Omen Transcend 14 does this. Eco mode will get you 10 hours on my laptop with the RTX 4060 disabled, but the only things it is useful for are video playback and typing. It feels horrendous to use. Gets ~50 points in CB 2024. Switch it over to Balanced and change nothing. S

Same. The issue gets worse because they also drop the refresh rate to 60Hz. My Omen Transcend 14 actually drops to 48. It’s infuriating. The reviewed battery life for my laptop was 9-10 hours. I get 5-6 with usable performance and 120Hz

Its a 14 inch laptop. There is only so many places for the heat to go. I had the Omen Transcend 14 before my G14 and it was just as loud and hot when gaming but the performance was worse.

Part of the issue is the 5070 on the Omen series I've read is apparently seriously undervolted. In the gaming hub make sure you have the smart performance gain enabled at +15v. That said I have a Ultra 9 285H 5070 Omen Transcend 14 I bought around the same time as you and it's been a frustrating exp
