Windows to Linux as a long-term Win user. How?
It was 22, also tried the newest versions of Ubuntu and Fedora. Same issues everywhere. Only mono sound with left speaker working. Newest BIOS, tried all suggested options. HP Elitebook x360 1040 G7.

IPADS FOR 6TH FORM
I used an hp elitebook x360 830 g3 with hp active pen. It is really good and it has a touch screen so I mostly used it as a tablet for doing papers. It had decent battery life(around 8 hours with power saving on) .It is a bit on the expensive side but you can buy a refurbished one from Ebay for way
