Both stick and dpad are valid. I use stick on a Hori octa commander and it feels great. A lot of people do prefer pad though, find what feels best for you. And honestly, it will just come with time. Because it is an objective fact. They are a bother to use, slow, wonky and unprecise due to usually not having a gate at all (controllers like Hori Octa being an exception). Just because someone uses it doesn't mean anything. You can play with your feet if you want. And pros that do use analog stick
