HE6se V2

Bought HD800S, Hifiman HE1000 Stealth and HE6se V2. HD800S is the only one I kept because it sounded the best.

You can see in the CSD plots where making contact with the grills while doing measurement sweeps makes a few resonances stop completely. Same thing has applied to a ton of Hifimans and some people have documented the window shade grills losing their resonance after gluing a metal bar down the center

Hifiman Sundara and Ananda are usable with rock and metal. The community recommended HE6seV2, it does sound amazing with good recorded music (Pink Floyd, Leprous, dire straights) but with general metal stuff - I was getting headaches and tinnitus for days. It really depends on what you’re trying to run. It can run all iems. My hifiman edition xs are easily run by it. It will not properly run the he6se v2. Impedance certainly matters.

Some prices are now higher than on the old website. Before HE6SE v2 open box price was 399USD + ~30USD shipping from warehouse in Poland, now its 1661EUR...
